I wrote the song when on tour with a dance group in Japan, and I felt so connected to everybody on this trip. We stayed together a great deal of the time, but there was a period of a few days when we stayed in separate home-stays. After having spent so much time together, and then having to stay apart, it made me realise just how much I loved every member of the group, how grateful I was to be there with them, and how much support I felt as an individual. 'Saint' is for those moments when you need to be surrounded by friends like those, to remind you that there are people in your life who care and are willing to support you through anything life throws your way.
